About the Area
From the moment you arrive in Poinciana, you will discover there's just something different about this place. Something special. Perhaps it's the picture-perfect setting for outdoor activities such as walking, biking, or jogging; or maybe it's the magnificent parks and pristine lakes perfect for fishing and canoeing. And what Florida community would be complete without golf, tennis and swimming. At Poinciana, you can enjoy all of these amenities as well as peace and serenity just minutes from shopping, fine dining, Osceola's and Polk's best schools are the most popular attractions.
Just like the good old days when many families grew up in small towns across rural America, Poinciana has its own town center with a special sense of place where families can experience an intimate hometown environment. A place where friends and neighbors can join each other for a morning cup of coffee at a local restaurant or share current events while shopping at a nearby supermarket. Complete with its own local ice cream store and the neighborhood library.
Retail
Poinciana Towne Center, Poinciana's growing retail hub, is highlighted by a 200,000+ sq. ft. Wal-Mart Superstore. The Towne Center located on Cypress Parkway boasts over 70 businesses, including the fashionable Promenade Shopping Center anchored by a 44,000 sq. ft. Publix supermarket. Other Towne Center tenants include Winn-Dixie Marketplace, Burger King, Pizza Hut, Denny's, Advanced Auto, and Tire Kingdom. You'll also find banks, service stations, a neighborhood post office and the Poinciana Family Medical Center, which features a 7-day-a-week, walk-in medical center and a consumer-friendly clinic for specialized care.
Recently added in 2007 is the Solivita® Marketplace. A mixed-use project at the corner of Marigold and Cypress Parkway includes a Walgreen's drugstore, Quiznos Subs and other retail shops and restaurants.
The Lowe's Home Centers, a 150,000 square foot retail store at The Pointe located at Poinciana Boulevard and Pleasant Hill Road, opens in early 2008. A new Home Depot store on 17-92 and Poinciana Boulevard is now open.
